What worked? That’s what we ask every client.

“Facing dementia is not easy. Cindy is knowledgeable, caring and willing to do anything to help. I felt like I instantly had a friend to walk me through this hard time with my mom. From getting clothes hangers, to being my shoulder to cry on, Cindy is there for it all!”

“When Rob and I got the call about Rob’s dad last April informing us that his health had deteriorated, that he was no longer able to live independently, and he needed to move back to the US, we were at a total loss about what to do. Bombarded by questions, we didn’t know where to begin: How do we relocate Rob’s dad to the Denver area so we can figure out all of his medical issues? How do we navigate Medicare? How do we find doctors in Denver who can help us diagnose and treat the myriad of symptoms he is presenting? How do we take care of him at our house until we figure out what to do? And, ultimately, how do we address his long-term care if he ends up needing more support than we are able to offer? Are there even affordable nursing care facilities out there that would meet our standards and provide a high quality of life for him?

This is where you and Don came in. You listened, asked questions, and devised a plan. A remarkable plan comprised of clear steps that moved us from the weight of confusion to confidently taking action. For the first time since we got the call in April, we had hope. Hope that we would be able to deal with all of these mounting issues, honor Rob’s dad, and frankly, maintain some sanity in our lives without letting his health issues take over everything.

Each step along the way, your careful research and knowledge of the medical field provided clear options we could weigh, helping us to make confident decisions. You researched options for flying Rob’s dad across the world with a medical escort making it possible for him to move here and receive the medical care he needed. You dove in calling specialists, helping to write letters of introduction with the hope that they might accept Rob’s dad into their practice. You connected us with an AARP Medicare Representative to ensure that Rob’s dad could get the insurance he needed. You helped retrofit our house so Rob’s dad could comfortably live with us, and connected us with dedicated in-home help. Don even accompanied Rob’s dad and me to visits with specialists, taking detailed notes and coordinating his care. When it was clear that we needed to move to more integrated support, you researched and coordinated visits, walking along side me, to skilled nursing facilities that met our criteria and budget.

I was also struck by the variety of resources and connections you have including non-medical home care, professionals who come into your home to care for family members. You and Don are relationship builders and have created a community of health care providers who are part of a team of support. I notice the ways you have created connections across the health care field and the mutual respect you share between other health care professionals. The result is that clients benefit not only from your expertise but also from the caring, trusted, network you have created.

You have helped us imagine a “new normal”. It’s been six months since Rob’s dad has been here in Denver with us and Rob took over medical power of attorney. You helped us move Rob’s dad into a skilled nursing facility, where he receives thoughtful care. He has settled in and the staff there knows him and tends to his needs. While never easy to move a family member into a skilled nursing facility, your support made it possible for Rob’s dad to transition with dignity and confidence.

I’m not sure I can adequately express the gratitude we feel for you and Don and the ways you transformed a seemingly impossible task into a caring life transition. You not only navigated the healthcare system for us, you made it possible for all of us to move forward with peace of mind and hope.”

“I have used Reassured Advocacy many times in the past year and cannot say enough good things about them. Don and Cindy Rigot are two of the most caring, yet professional, people I have known. They always made themselves available to accompany me to doctors’ appointments for me when I was approaching surgery and unable to concentrate on details. Their support during the appointments was invaluable and their attention to detail when writing up the reports afterwards was, frankly, incredible. They did not just report the conversations; they would actually research some of the information discussed, so that I could have a better understanding of the surgery I was undergoing. In many cases, they researched the doctors themselves! Both before the surgery, and during recuperation, Don and Cindy were there for me. They will be my first ‘line of defense’ should I ever have health issues again!”

“My father needed emergency placement in a skilled nursing rehab facility, and since I lived 1,500 miles away, I felt helpless.   A call to Cindy Rigot at ReAssured Advocacy quickly set my mind at ease as she was knowledgeable about facilities in the area as well as the Medicare considerations and requirements that would impact our decisions.  Almost immediately she was making calls on my family’s behalf to help find the appropriate rehab setting for Dad.   As someone who regularly uses the internet to do everything I need – I learned that when finding care for an aging parent, you also need a professional to help navigate a complicated and ever changing health care system. Thanks to ReAssured Advocacy, we had a positive outcome and I am grateful for their services as well as their compassionate support.”

“My husband and I credit ReAssured Advocacy with enhancing my mom’s quality of life over the years. As her multiple medical conditions diminished her independence, ReAssured’s close and caring attention allowed us to maintain the family/work balance of our lives. This meant time spent with mom was focused on her…not racing to physician appointments, managing day-to-day medical issues, waiting for call-backs and researching resources. It was so important to both Mom and me that I could simply be ‘her daughter’ instead of ‘her nurse.’  What a wonderful gift it was to have Don and Cindy enter our lives.”

“When my mother, who lived in Indianapolis, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s we knew she couldn’t continue to living by herself with no family nearby. I had no knowledge of care facilities, what options and resources are available, or even what questions to ask. Don researched different care facilities for me and provided information on rates, amenities, services and insurance coverage. With this information I was prepared when I visited the facilities, and able to ask relevant questions, and make an informed decision regarding the best place to move my mother. Don was not only helpful and reassuring, but more importantly, Don was very caring. He made a stressful process manageable.”

“You are a lifesaver. You helped me navigate complex medical care, moves to senior housing and nursing homes and the medical issues associated with the onset of dementia for both my parents. You were detailed and organized in your research and recommendations and was able to anticipate their needs and offer solutions before there was a crisis. My parents loved having someone with so much empathy help and it enabled me to spend my time enjoying my parents rather than dealing with all the paperwork, phone calls and arrangements. I didn’t need to take time off work to take them for routine doctor appointments.  I received thorough communication about each appointment and was able to have all my concerns addressed.   I can’t say enough about your integrity, communication skills and desire to help others.”
